Experiência fantástica: We have traveled to dozens of countries from Asia, to Europe and the Americas over the last 40 years and have had many guides on those trips of all abilities and qualities. Oporto & Douro Moments stands out as unquestionably one of the best we have ever experienced. The professionalism of the organization was top notch and more importantly the quality of Joao, their guide and the breadth and depth of the tour itself was exceptional. Joao picked us up in Oporto and spent the day with us driving through the Douro Valley. We visited vineyards, wineries, towns, villages, a wonderful restaurant and the mountain tops. His knowledge of Portuguese history was extensive and nuanced and his knowledge of the current state of his country was equally impressive as was his knowledge of Portuguese wines which he was able to put in the context of other European wines of different eras. He was articulate and described his subjects with great forethought. His depth and breadth of knowledge was most impressive as was his engaging manner. Frankly we would recommend Joao and his team without reservation for any thoughtful people who seek to learn and understand this wonderful country and region.

Experiência fantástica: We enjoyed a fantastic trip. The first stop was at Quinta do Cume, a relatively small-scale wine producer, where we witnessed the vinification process and, overlooking the vineyards, tasted the range of white and red wines. The next stop was Quinta de Tourais by the passionate winemaker Gernando Coelho who, also on a modest scale, produces extremely original wines with beautiful labels and painted bottles. The tour ended at Quinta da Pacheca, founded in 1738, and with 75 hectares it is one of the larger producers of white, red and rose wines and port. We enjoyed lunch at the intimate family restaurant Toca da Raposa where we enjoyed original regional dishes, of course accompanied by local wines and locally produced port. Along the way we made a number of stops to admire and capture the beautiful panoramas of this beautiful part of Portugal. João was a great driver and a well-informed guide who informed us during the trip about many details about the Douro area, Portuguese wine culture and life in Portugal. Highly recommended!

Experiência fantástica: In just three hours Sara provided a superb introduction to Porto on our walking tour. What was extra special was her ability to tailor the wake to our specific interests. A wonderful way to walk the city and learn about its history and culture.

Experiência fantástica: This was an excellent tour guide service. Sara acted as our personal guide for both the 1/2 day walking tour of Porto and then a combined full day tour of GUIMARÃES AND BRAGA. This was truly a pleasure. Sara had all required entrances taken care of and we were able to avoid all queues. She is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and was eager to share history and intermingle stories from the different regions of Portugal through history of mid-evil times and the moors through the Templar’s and the monarchs to the Spanish and English and French and the church’s role, up to the 20th century dictatorship and eventual independence. Her knowledge does not stop at history. She is well versed in the industries including the tile, foods, and of course Port. Selecting a private tour was one of the smartest things we did. Watching the small and large groups try to maneuver and listen through headphones in their crowds was laughable. Being able to tailor the tour to our interests and save time for what we wanted to do was priceless. And Sara took the time to book us a lunch at an exclusive restaurant as well as stop at the end and have coffee with us. I thank Sara and her company for making our trip to Porto wonderful and meaningful.

She knew Porto well, knew the best places to go as we ate our way through the city seeing historic locations as well. She is personable, knowledgeable and very fun ! Highly recommend. As we aren't fond of big, crowded tours, we were looking for something private just for the two of us, and thats exactly whay we got. We took the Douro Wine Lovers Tour and truly enjoyed the place we visited. This a tour that I definitely recommend, and that I'll also recommend to my friends back home if they ever visit Portugal. Experiência fantástica: My husband and I had a lovely day in the Douro valley. We stayed in Porto and wanted to visit the valley, but didn't want to be thrown into a general tour. We opted for a private tour and couldn't have been happier with what 'Moments' provided. We were picked up at our hotel and driven to the valley stopping in an old small village, and more unique and quaint vineyards (at our request). We had private tastings and tours which allowed us to ask questions, and to keep to our own timeline. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgable and his English was outstanding.
