Experiência fantástica: 5 Stars – Active, social, and full of great memories I did the Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo hike with Nature Meetings on 3 April 2025, and it was a splendid experience. Our guide, Nestor, was super approachable and knowledgeable—he shared loads of interesting info about Madeira’s plants, wildlife, and culture, along with great tips for food, drinks (including where to find real Poncha), and nightlife in Funchal. The weather was a bit unpredictable that day, so the route had to be slightly adjusted—but it was still an active hike, we got in some proper climbing, and took some decent photos along the way. The group was also a highlight—a fun and friendly mix of people, which made it a perfect chance to socialise while hiking. That part alone was 5/5. Highly recommend Nature Meetings if you want more than just a walk—you get nature, stories, laughs, and a proper sense of connection to the island.

Transportation to and from our hotel was super helpful. Highly recommended for travelers who like nature and are physically fit.

Experiência fantástica: Did the Pico Aerero to Pico Ruivo climb in Madeira with this company. They were excellent. Our tour guide Jonny looked after us a group really well throughout the climb making sure everyone was safe and providing us with information about the surrounding landscape and fauna at various viewpoints throughout. It was an incredibly hot day but worth it. We were picked up and bought back to our accommodation and as a group enjoyed the climb

Experiência fantástica: 12 июля у нашей группы (около 15 человек) Был поход от Pico do Arieiro до Pico do Ruivo. Меня вовремя забрали у моего отеля и потом мы около 40 минут забирали других гостей и около 30 минут ехали до верхушки Pico de Arieiro. Там у нас было 20 минут чтобы сделать фото, сходить в туалет или сделать покупки,затем начался наш поход... В начале было всё не так уж и сложно,а вот потом был ад (для меня по крайней мере). Очень долгий и крутой подъём по лестницам (некоторые из металла с поручнями, некоторые из камней без поручней). Так же для меня оказался очень сложный подъём к хижине, где можно перекусить, пополнить запасы воды и сходить в туалет. На Pico do Ruivo я к сожалению не смогла подняться, не осилила последние 200 метров. Для неподготовленных людей это очень тяжёлый поход. После Pico do Ruivo путь к парковке, где нас ждал автобус, был очень лёгким, по сравнению с уже проделанным путём. Наш гид, не уверена в имени, но возможно Нестор, был очень классным. Постоянно говорил об осторожности, много рассказывал про местную флору и фауну, поддерживал. В основном он всё рассказывал на английском. Я к сожалению только начала его изучать, поэтому понимала не совсем всё, но видя, что я не понимаю, гид пытался мне всё равно это объяснить. Я бы рекомендовала взять с собой в это путешествие хороший фонарик для прохождения пещер (мне моего фонарика на телефоне было мало), вместо солнцезащитного крема лучше правильно одеться (в хорошую погоду, при палящем солнце, потеешь очень сильно и гид нам тоже не советовал использовать крем как я поняла из-за каких-то насекомых (пчёл?), которых привлекает этот запах и они могут ужалить.), воду и хорошую обувь. Скандинавские палки в некоторых местах будут полезны, но я не представляю как с ними подниматься по крутым лестницам. У кого проблемы с давлением, подумайте дважды прежде чем туда идти, это действительно очень сильная нагрузка!!! Несмотря на всю сложность маршрута и что мои ноги ужасно болят,я рада, что там побывала! Виды просто восхитительные!!! И я горда собой,что сделала это)))

Experiência fantástica: I booked a hike from Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo and Achada do Teixeira with Nature Meetings and can fully recommend this tour provider! One day before the tour, I received a detailed message with my pick-up time, what to bring, contact details etc. The next day, Nature Meetings picked me up at the agreed time directly at my hotel and we drove straight up to Pico do Arieiro. There, we met our very cool guide and received detailed information about the route, rules and what to expect. As the hike is challenging, Nature Meetings offered to take less confident hikers to Achada do Teixeira by minivan to allow them to hike to Pico Ruivo from there. From Pico do Arieiro, we walked about three hours to Pico Ruivo. The hike is very challenging (you will cover about 1.000m in altitude) so you may want to go on a few easier routes to test your stamina beforehand. But our experienced local guide made sure that the group was made aware of especially challenging passages and gave us time for breaks and pictures, while giving plenty interesting information about the area, birds and plants/flowers that grow up on the mountains. Once we arrived at Achada do Teixeira, we hopped back on the minivans and were driven back to our hotels. While my legs tell me that I should never go on such a tour ever again, my heart is so full from the experience that I will surely never forget, the pain was completely worth it. I wholehearted recommend Nature Meeting and would choose them again if my legs forget that experience and my wanderlust kicks back in.

Nous avons également pu emprunter pour le retour un chemin très peu touristique. Encore merci a Nestor et également au chauffeur. Attention : le guide ne parle pas français, la visite se fait en anglais

They were punctual for the pick-up, and the hike was perfect, largely thanks to our guide, Diego. His friendly demeanor and engaging communication made the adventure truly enjoyable. Will definitely choose them every time I visit Madeira.

Experiência fantástica: This is a MUST DO!!! Everything was organized really well and guides were the sweetest! THE VIEWS!!! Such a beautiful hike-one of the coolest things Ive ever seen. Come prepared with water, snacks, sunscreen and good shoes. I wore my nikes and felt fine. Guides would slow down for those who needed a break! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Experiência positiva: Prachtige wandeling. Wel toeristische en druk. Het was niet mogelijk om een foto van de 25 watervallen te nemen omdat er hordes mensen op stenen zaten. Onze gids was een Onsympathieke norse man. Ophalen en terug brengen was goed geregeld.

Experiência fantástica: Ich hatte eine Tour zu den höchsten Gipfeln Madeiras gebucht und es war um einiges schöner als ich gedacht hatte. Wir hatten einen sehr netten und lustigen Guide, der sich sehr gut ausgekannt hat und uns sicher durch die Berge geführt hat. Von Beginn der Tour, das heißt das Abholen mit dem Bus, über die Wanderung, bis hin zum Abholen mit dem Bus hat alles reibungslos funktioniert. Ich empfehle diese Tour definitiv weiter, denn sie war ein unfassbar tolles und schönes Erlebnis! Als Rat für alle, die sich überlegen diese Tour zu machen: -Ihr solltet eine gewisse Ausdauer mitbringen, denn es kommen immer wieder sehr steile Passagen, auch in Kombination mit Treppen. -Vorher auf jeden Fall etwas frühstücken oder ein ordentliches Vesper einpacken. Und natürlich genug Wasser, die Flaschen kann man oben an der Hütte aber auffüllen und es hat dort auch Toiletten. -Nehmt festes Schuhwerk, genug Sonnencreme, eine Jacke und wer es braucht einen Schal oder Mütze mit, denn es ist teilweise sehr windig, aber auch sehr sonnig.

Experiência positiva: Die Rabacal Levada-Wanderung für sich genommen war sehr schön - die Begleitumstände weniger. Entgegen der in den Informationen zu diesem Ausflug gemachten Angaben ("Nehmen Sie Bargeld für das Mittagessen mit") gab es KEINE Möglichkeit, während der Tour etwas zu essen zu kaufen. Während der GESAMTEN Wanderung gab es zudem auch KEINE Möglichkeit ein WC aufzusuchen. Da es die örtlichen Gegebenheiten nicht erlauben, sich von den zahlreichen anderen Wanderern weit genug zu entfernen um sich bei Verrichtung der Notdurft unbeobachtet zu fühlen, war dies äußerst unangenehm. Am Ende der Wanderung gab es einen 800 m langen Tunnel. Das wurde wohl vor dem Start der Tour bekanntgegeben, nicht jedoch, dass der Tunnel UNBELEUCHTET, der Boden uneben und teilweise tiefere Wasserlachen vorhanden waren. Daher ist diese Wanderung meines Erachtens mit EUR 42,50 unverschämt TEUER!!!

Experiência fantástica: Had a great day with the group and the tour guide made sure we enjoyed every part of the trip but at the same time ensured we felt safe to do the trip. It was a tough walk but the pace the guide took us at was great. If you feel brave, do it!

Experiência fantástica: We really enjoyed the Pico Ariero to Pico Ruivo hike. Our guide Milka was really nice, patient and knowledgeable. He clearly described how difficult the hike was and we had a chance to go a different way if we felt we couldn’t make it. There’s no turning back on this hike! One gentleman had difficulty and he stayed at the back with him, but gave us clear directions, so that we could go on to the peak. It was absolutely amazing but not for anyone who doesn’t have a decent level of fitness. The sights are astounding. The pace was good. We knew exactly what to expect thanks to our guide.

Experiência fantástica: Die Wanderung an den Levadas ist wunderschön. traumhafte Pflanzenwelt, Löwenzahn, Erika, Lorbeer alles nur viel, viel größer und wild gewachsen - ein wenig Zauberwald. Unser Führer Fabio war super sympathisch und versuchte auf jeden von uns einzugehen. Erklärte alle Pflanzen neben englisch auf polnisch, finnisch und deutsch. Auch wählte er einen Einstieg, der ab vom Hauptstart lag, damit wir am Anfang wenigstens ungestört waren. Große Lob auch an den Fahrer, der uns über alle Abhänge, Höhen und enge Straßen sicher fuhr. Einzig unglücklich war mein Start: musste 40 Minuten (15 Minuten vor Start sollte man bereitstehen) auf den Bus warten. Eine kleine SMS am Morgen bzw. eine halbe Stunde vor Ankunft hätte mich sehr entspannt. Es war ziemlich klar, da ich das vorletzte Hotel war, das angefahren wurde, dass ich erst nach der Abholzeit dran sein würde.

Experiência fantástica: A very nice levada hike aprox 11km. Our sweet guide Margaritha (maybee spelled wrong) told us about everything worth knowing and then she ensured our safety.

Experiência positiva: Overall the experience was positive. Easy pick up and drop off, and it was a gorgeous weather day for the hike. Our guide Sam was very nice, and pointed out landmarks and parts of nature along the way The hike went well. But was quite slow due to the amount of people on the trail, and the varied levels of experience in the group. Seeing as there were three total guide groups, it would have made more sense to find out the hiking experience level of each person, and setting up the groups that way instead. We spent way too much time waiting for the group to catch up. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed my time!!

Experiência negativa: Gebucht hatten wir die Königstour , die aufgrund des schlechten Wetters bei dieser Gruppengröße nicht durchgeführt werden konnte. Eine Alternative hatten wir nicht, denn wir wurden zu einer seichten Wanderung an die Küste gebracht. Langsames spazieren mit Blumenkunde war angesagt. Eine frustrierende Alternative, die wir so nicht gewählt haben.Unsere eigenen Touren hatten einen weit höherenden Anspruch. Fazit: teuer und kein fun.

Experiência fantástica: Absolutely spectacular hike. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We went at a good pace but there was time to appreciate the stunning views. We went in February and were glad to have warm layers for the wind and waterproof walking shoes. Couldn't recommend this hike enough

Experiência fantástica: Booked through get your guide- had a great experience. We had to do the Larana hike instead due to really bad storms in the area. Our guide was knowledgeable and took her time taking the group at the pace we needed.

Experiência negativa: Booked, the Caldeiro Verde Levada walk with Nature Meetings in Madeira, Portugal for April 9, 2022. The driver / guide Elder (sp?) picked me and 7 other tourists up at our hotels. He drove carefully and seemed a nice young man who discussed the walk, with me, saying it was very dangerous and I wouldn't be able to use my walking poles, (which I always use when hiking), because 1/2 the walk was along a steep cliff, with room for only 1 person at a time and not enough room to pole. I was disappointed as was well prepared, (did 180 k's on a Camino and hike regularly) and had researched the levada, prior to booking but this information had not been given - people wrote, "you didn't need to be prepared, even children could do the walk". However, I believed what Elder told me. He gave me an option to do the first part of the levada and then return to the parking area and wait for the group to return. Elder gave us very strict / clear rules to follow when on the levada. I did the first part which was interesting and easy and then returned, on my own, to the parking area. I enjoyed my day as the parking area was in a park with lovely walking trails including the start of two Caminos. When Elder and the others returned, about 3 1/2 hours later, I thanked him for his option and told him I enjoyed my day. All was good until Elder drove out of the parking lot and onto the highway. He talked non-stop, waving both hands in the air and turning frequently to speak directly to the two tourists in the front seat beside him. I sat directly behind him and saw his face profile more often than the back of his head. I did not want to interrupt him while he was talking but he never stopped. The drive back to my hotel was about 1 hour. I felt very uncomfortable the way Elder was driving, especially around curves and through tunnels (which is a good part of the road). I finally made a joke, saying, "you many be Elder but I am more senior, please keep your eyes on the road and both hands on the wheel". Everyone laughed, including Elder but he continued his dangerous driving. Thinking he didn't take me seriously, I tried again saying, "Elder you kept everyone safe on the levada with your rules, now you need to keep us safe on the road - you can tell us your stories but PLEASE, keep your hands on the wheel, your eyes on the road" He said he would and for about 2 minutes he did and then both arms were in the air again and he was turning to the tourists beside him. The 3rd time, I asked him to stop, when it was safe insisting he let me out of the vehicle saying I would find my own way back to the hotel. Two tourists in the back seat spoke up supporting my concerns. Elder refused to let me out but he did stop talking, kept both hands on the wheel and his eyes on the road but we all knew he was mad. I was the last tourist to be let off at my hotel. I tried to speak to him. He did not apologize instead said, "Have a good day madam" and drove off. I was in Madeira for 2 weeks and took 7 tours, all with different companies. All the drivers, except Elder, followed safe driving rules. I would like to hear from "Nature Meetings" but haven't. Experiência fantástica: Obwohl wir kein gutes Wetter hatten, war es eine sehr schöne, aber auch anstrengende, Wanderung. Die Kommunikation mit dem Veranstalter war schon vor der Abholung sehr gut. Am Beginn der Wanderung gab der Guide einen Überblick zur Wanderung und auch unterwegs hatte er uns immer im Blick. Auch als Anfänger fühlte ich mich dadurch sicher. Die Strecke ist sehr schön, aber es geht gut runter und dann wieder hoch. Man sollte also eine gewisse Fitness haben. Achtet auch auf vernünftige Kleidung, da es da Oben im Winter kühl werden kann. Und nicht die Wanderschuhe vergessen, da es auch rutschig sein kann. Auf jeden Fall mache ich die Tour noch ein Mal bei anderen Wetter.

Experiência fantástica: I booked the tour from Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo. The hike was spectacular. It was challenging for someone who doesn’t hike often but a must-do while in Madeira. As a solo traveller it was great to be with a group and have the van pick up because it’s not a loop walk. Our guide Nadia was brilliant, she was informative and encouraged us to go at our own pace.

Experiência negativa: The hike (pico to pico) is gorgeous, but I cannot recommend Nature meetings because our guide was absolutely awful. Not only did he ruin my day, but I was also none the wiser about the history and flora. He was Rude, Sexist and Xenophobic. Not what I paid for!! If only we’d had any one of the other guides mentioned in the reviews below. I emailed the company about the guide and it seems they are aware of his, yet continue to employ him, which means they neither advocate for those from other nationalities nor women!

Experiência fantástica: Wir haben die Tour vom Pico Aveeiro zum Pico Ruvio gebucht. Es hat alles wunderbar geklappt. Der Transport war pünktlich und unser Guide Johny hat sehr viel Interessantes zu erzählen gewusst. Er war sehr emphatisch und hatte für alle Personen in unsrer heterogenen Gruppe gleich viel Aufmerksamkeit. Er war sehr hilfsbereit. Gerne wieder. Dass es auf den Pico und dieser spektakulären Route viele Menschen hat, haben wir nicht anders erwartet.

Experiência negativa: I've started the morning by waiting 30 minutes to the pickup, I've called the office and got the answer: "they on their way just keep waiting" not even an appology. The hike is well paved and we'll signed, there is no need of a guide, as I knew it already, I decided to join a guided tour for the knowledge I might gain from the guide, alas the guide was very unpleasant, his English was not good enough and not as expected from an English tour guide, I might even say the guide damaged my experience and enjoyment of the hike, the scenery was beautiful and the hike is well worth it. To conclude: the company is not recommend at all, the hike is extremely recommended

Experiência negativa: EDIT: You ARE the right company. The booking is under my partners name. Would not recommend. Seriously, do NOT waste your money. The bus to take us from the hotel to Rabaçal was late. No problem. We called the organisator to ask if everythings's okay or something changed after we got their mail with the pickup time. They were very annoyed and rude and told us that they are on the way and just wait... Ok, again, no problem. Just wanted to make sure that nothing changed and you are not searching for us. No need to be angry...? After reaching Rabaçal we were waiting outside the bus. Our tour guide Ruben welcomed us and immediatly stared at my partners shoes. He wore Toms with socks. We get it, it's no military equipment, but we went on hikes with higher difficulty with ordinary shoes. This trail from Rabaçal to the waterfalls is a relaxed walk, especially if you often go hiking... We use hiking shoes for actual hiking trails... He told us that, we can't come on the "hike" with these shoes because it's dangerous. We understand this is a liability for the organisator, so we told them, it's ok, we understand, we are on our own. The tour guide took us with him under the premise that we were not insured. (Please note, that there were other people walking with loafers...still, my partner was singled out) Should have just walked alone to the waterfall instead, because the rest of the tour got even worse. Fot the whole hike, the guide was very annoyed for every question coming in his direction, no matter who asked. On every stop the guide made snarky remarks to me and my partner. In the end, everything was fine. No one slipped, no one got hurt. The walk has many steps and can be slippery, but absolutely no problem as long you're not disabled or VERY clumsy. The "picnic" at the waterfall location was cramped with tourists. I use quotation marks, because this was most definetly not a picnic. We quickly scarfed down our own snacks, took some pictures and quickly went to the next location. For the whole trip it was almost impossible to take pictures because we couldn't stop and take a quick picture (except for 3 places Ruben explicity told us that there is a spot). When we walked behind him, Ruben was annoyed. When we walked in front of him, Ruben was annoyed again. Too bad he not always told us when he changed his mind. And even though there were other people behind/in front of us, Ruben ALWAYS went the extra mile to single my partner and me out. He went off on us on more than one ocasion... At the end of the hike there is a long, dark tunnel. It's wet, slippery and obviously dark. My partner and me had our mobile phones ready. And AGAIN, Ruben singled out my partner and went off on him. Why he has no light. He needs one. It's wet. Everyone needs one. You don't have a mobile phone? etc. We both hold our mobile phones up and told him we have a light. Again, he rolled his eyes and let us go. The tour ended with a quick stop on the road next to a small local for 20min, so we can quickly drink something, if we choose to do so. The fact that the local was 15min away from our hotel made this whole ordeal even weirder? Was this supposed to be lunch? Other tourists were also appalled by Rubens behavior and told us, that this "hike" is a walk they would also do in hiking sandals or even Birkenstocks. They did not understand why we were singled out all the time. If I wanted to pay someone to get roasted, I would pay Gordon Ramsay instead. Do NOT waste your money for this tour and just use Bolt to Rabaçal and then go alone to the waterfall instead.

Experiência fantástica: I really enjoyed this guided tour- our guide was great and constantly slowed down to make sure everyone in the group was able to catch up. He was so knowledgeable and helped motivate us the entire time.

Experiência fantástica: Really enjoyed my walk ... it rained a bit, often cloudy in the hills, and my aging body now hates me, but just magnificent views. And our guide was knowledgeable and funny. And when they label the walk very challenging, they aren't lying ... lots of ups and downs, lightless tunnels, steep rock and metal stairs. But very glad I went.

L’expédition était décrite sur getyourguide comme étant en « petit groupe » et nous étions en réalité 24…La langue que j’avais demandée était le français et le guide n’a parlé uniquement anglais. Aucun intérêt donc pour moi de réaliser cette expédition en accompagnée.

Experiência positiva: Eine Tour über GetYourGuide gebucht, beim Pickup wurde mir gesagt das die Tour abgesagt wurde aufgrund des Wetters und eine Alternativtour stattfindet. Diese Wanderung machte ich jedoch bereits also lehnte ich ab. Ich solle mich an die Firma wenden um mein Geld zu erhalten. Nach Kontakt mit der Firma wurde mir die Rückzahlung zugesichert.

Experiência fantástica: Hello! We choose this trip as a last resort for thickig off the list Pico to Pico hike. We had no idea what to expect but in overall it was great: Pros: - pick up from the hotel or a spot 5 min away from it walking (drop off is the same) - guide, at least ours, was fantastic, very open, gave us some insight on when and why pathways were build, (we had Margarita) - views are beautiful - if you are a beginner and heard that this is challenging, you may want to try it anyway; challenging part for me was only the last 1.5 km which are steps most of the time, but nothing more, due to the traffic at this time of the day (roughly 11.30am), you will stop and rest every now and than for 2-5 mins; I'm 120kg doing mostly heavy weights and a little cardio and I made it, my girlfriend is not exercising at all and made it; it was worth every step we took; Cons: - the car ride can make you dizzy, they are on the clock and the driver takes no hostages - the traffic can be annoying, we didn't mind it though - long queue to the loo below Pico Ruivo's summit. - no a/c in the bus, I was boiling. 5stars because pros heavily outweigh cons in my opinion.

Experiência positiva: Das Klima in den Erika-Wäldern ist im August angenehm kühl. Unser Führer hat uns auf Kräuter, Blumen und Sträucherarten aufmerksam gemacht. Er legte uns Käsestückchen in die flache Hand und Buchfinke landeten zum Picknick. Wunderschöne Wasserfälle plätschern im saftigen Grün. Es waren sehr viele Wanderer unterwegs.

Good explanations about the overall trekking and every new part what is next , guide was worries people were not tired. Good transportation and time schedule, we departure around 9am and back 4pm Good 12 km

Les paysages sont supers. Quelques passages difficiles, mais rien n insurmontable. A faire absolument. Le voyage ce fait en navette,on nous récupère et nous ramène. Merci au chauffeur aussi. Experiência fantástica: Johnny is a star! We left our Arieiro Ruivo till thle las day. We had 150km in our feet allredy, so our condition wasnt 100%. I got an asthma attack and Johnny was there for me, helped me to get through it, took his time, no pressure and made me feel, Im not alone in the situation. So 10/10 Amazing service

Experiência positiva: The place is amazing. The guide was really informative, he spoke very well several languages. But the groups were too big, so people at the end didn't hear anything. I suggest you try to walk in front, so you'll hear some fun facts about the flora and the history. I really liked the hike. It's not a really hard one, I hike a few times a year and had no problems with it. The tempo is quite slow, so if you're in normal shape it shouldn't be a problem.

Ci hanno lasciate nel punto di ritrovo dopo che la loro guida ci ha detto che ci avrebbero aspettate giù a fine escursione. Una volta contattato il loro servizio, ci hanno trattate come se avessimo tardato di proposito e non per loro mancanza. Ci hanno mandato un messaggio quando stavano andando via e si sono rifiutati di fornirci qualsivoglia assistenza che non fosse "prendete un taxi". Trovo incredibile il comportamento sia delle guide che dell'amministrazione. Non mi sorprende vista l'ospitalità generale dell'isola in cui hanno cercato di farci pagare il triplo rispetto ai prezzi esposti. Belle le montagne ma per tutto il resto, ci sono posti migliori e trattamenti più rispettosi. SCONSIGLIATISSIMI

Experiência negativa: Dolphin trip was a waste of time and money, the least interesting activity we have done on this trip. Spent 2hrs on the most uncomfortable boat I’ve ever been on and saw one pod of dolphins that they’d apparently annoyed earlier. No chance to swim with them, no swimming at all.

Experiência fantástica: Brilliant experience, very knowledgeable guide and stunning views. Some parts of the hike are hardwork, but so worth it. Unfortunately it was cloudy at the top of Pico Ruivo, but the journey there more than makes up for it! Take lots of water and snacks! Highly recommended.

Experiência negativa: The bus ran a little late and was waiting for us at the busstop on the opposite side of the road, but this was fixed with a quick call from the tour operator and caused minimal delay. The driver was very kind, and skillfully navigated the small mountain roads of the island. The hike itself was beautiful, the view of the waterfall was absolutely worth it, but the pace was rather slow, which you'd have to keep in mind if you're more of an experienced hiker. Our guide, sure knew a lot about the nature of the island, but that's about the only positive thing we can say about him. The whole vibe he gave us, was that he absolutely hated tourists and rather not be there at all. During the day, he made every misogynistic joke he could think of, to the point it was obvious he was only halve-joking. This made both me and my sister rather uncomfortable. Somewhere during the day he took me apart and told me I must be a model, because of my appearance, and kept making comments about the way I look for quite a while. To sum it up; yes, you absolutely should visit the 25 fountains/rabaçal; just please don't go with this tourguide!

Experiência fantástica: Wir hatte die Tour vom Pico do Arieiro zum Pico Rivu gebucht. Der Transfer hat gut geklappt, mit dem Guide waren wir ebenfalls zufrieden. Es hatte zuvor 2 Tage geregnet, sodass es sich auf dem Weg stellenweise arg gestaut hat. Auch das hat der Guide gut gehandelt.

The guide was very informative and ensured we made the most of the trip. Would do this trip again at a different time of year for a different aesthetic.

Experiência fantástica: Amazing experience,from booking to rescheduling to actually going on the trip it was all seemless. Andrew in Nature Meetings helped us reschedule our tour due to us being very nervous about the weather forecast which we really appreciated. The tour collected us from right outside our door at the allocated time and Elder(i think was our guides name) was a great guide who made us feel very safe on our trip across the peaks. The hike itself was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. We didn't have too much time to stop during our walking parts for pictures, but if anything it is for out own safety so we keep an eye on the path. The hike in total took about 5/6 hours with about three breaks along the way. There are some very steep points but they end quickly and are totally worth it. Truely unique experience. Please note, if you suffer from acrophobia/vertigo i would recommend looking further into if this hike is for you, as it is quite slippy at points. I only say this as my partner was extremely highly strung the whole time so just in case(he didn't look up the hike beforehand and this was his own error but just in case someone else needs to know what it looks like beforehand). Experiência fantástica: Really well organised day trip. The got in touch with us a few days earlier to confirm pick up point. They arrived on time and the driver gave us some explanation of the island. The group was not too big, 19 people, and Daría, our guide, was great, kept us at a good pace and ensure we had some breaks and water. The views all along are breathing and one of the best things to do in the island.

Experiência fantástica: had a great time on our Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo hike. Samuel was a good guide, encouraged us to take our own pace and had a lot of info to share about the route and the peaks.

Experiência positiva: Makes sense to do the two peaks hiking tour with a guide. The guide shares useful and entertaining information. Taxi transfers up and down the peaks are not cheaper. The only downside is, that pick-up and drop-off might take up to an hour each because the minibus takes like 7-8 stops in Funchal.

Experiência positiva: Orga klappte. Das Tempo auf der Wanderung war mir etwas zu schnell. Ein paar mehr geplante kurze Pausen der Gruppe zum Trinken und Fotostops wären mir lieber gewesen. So war ich immer etwas zurück, wenn die Gruppe wartete, damit ich aufschließen könnte, wurde gleich weiter gegangen ohne für mich ebenfalls eine Pause zu haben. Ich kannte den Weg und wusste was mich erwartet. Das Wandererlebnis war fantastisch. Die Führung ok und das Fahrzeug sehr eng. Alles in allem war es ein schöner Tag.

Experiência negativa: 14 people on guided tour were far too many. On the bus to the destination the guide was giving information that was difficult to hear. It was difficult to hear the guide as we were walking. The speed was too fast as taking a picture would put you far behind. When the guide would stop to give important information he would not wait for people in the back. Overall the experience was poor

Experiência positiva: Booked it the day before to do the Pico Ruivo-pico Arieiro hike and was the only tour that had availability. Price was ok for the service, they are all more os less the same. They picked us quite punctual as scheduled but it took forever to then pick everyone else from the tour, and on too there was a misunderstanding with a hotel that made us loose 15 more minutes. But besides that, all good. Guide was a very knowledgeable local guide and share a lot about the ecology and history of the places along the way as well as during the hike itself. The hike itself is very very recomendable, specially to do it with a tour to avoid having to make it return (and adding 3+h!).
